About Miss Layal
Hi, I'm Layal — or, as generations of little learners know me, Miss Layal.
I've spent years teaching mathematics and coordinating primary mathematics within a Cambridge curriculum school. My work has allowed me to see learning from different angles: as a classroom teacher, a coordinator, a resource creator and someone constantly asking one question:
"How can we make this clearer for the child?"
Working with children has taught me that learning isn't always about doing more. Sometimes it's about presenting an idea differently, breaking it into smaller steps, giving a child something they can see or touch, or simply giving them enough space to figure it out.
That thinking became the foundation of Miss Layal's Learning Corner.
I create resources that combine educational purpose with child-friendly design — materials that are clear without being boring, engaging without being overwhelming, and structured without expecting every child to learn in exactly the same way.
My work currently draws strongly from my experience in primary mathematics, while Miss Layal's Learning Corner continues to grow into early learning, literacy, learning skills, wellbeing and resources for educators.
Because this isn't meant to be just a collection of worksheets.
It's a little corner built around how children learn.
